Her recommendation was correct, spot on, it was lovely. Strangely I went for the squash rissoto instead of the beef and it was a very welcome change and delicious. Starter I had tangy fishcakes and as it was only £14.50 for 3 course, I finished off with some ice cream. Excellent they were able to squeeze us in at teh last minute too. less

Whilst I do not make a habit of returning to anything other than a decent bin of wine I felt that enough time had passed for me to taste their spectacular menu afresh and see how it had evolved since my last supper with them. Needless to say the decor was as tasteful as I remember it being and the service on a par with a reasonable Parisian brothel (Which these stuffy Brits would probably think an insult having never ventured out from beneath their mother\\\'s apron strings). Having been seated within a lovely window vestibule and plied with a rather charming amontillado I scanned the menu rather leisurely hoping to find a note of scrutiny which would have pleased my dear departed chum of yore. I\\\'m delighted to note that the offerings surpassed even the most miserly of cuisinal concerns and I had a spot of bother whittling down my list of potential consumables. Jacques, an elderly manservant of substantial experience, took my order of a medley of game, followed with steak tartar with Oriental accompaniments with a kiwi and dragonfruit meringue to finish. I shall not dare insult the food by trying to describe it with mere English phraseology, were a translator of universal proportions available to me the most magnificent poetry ever gazed upon would be before you at this point. The nearest I can recommend is that you visit here yourself post haste and see if you would dare attempt contextualising it without vandalising it\\\'s Platonic stature. A rather bold malbec titillated the experience and when this warmed onto a ravishing port alongside a bedazzled cheeseboard I felt I knew heaven intimately. I wanted to meet the chef personally and thank him for his superb standards and dedication to the olfactory system however Jacques noted that he is a touch of a prima donna and does not take praise well. For this alone the occasion lost a star stopping it from being fully praised although I can understand the artistic temperament a maestro of his calibre may withstand. Prior to departing I tried a most fascinating salivary sensation known as tribble truffles. Dangerous savoury to have as you leave due to it\\\'s absolute moreish tendencies. I may find myself returning much sooner than I would have just to enjoy their indescribable palate again. All in all if you find yourself in London and are sick of \\\'Jamie Tongue Sandwiches\\\' I\\\'d highly recommend you catch yourself a hansom cab and indulge in what could be the best food this side of Saigon. Realreview   -   I have enjoyed two evenings here over the Christmas period in this modern very English take on Thai food restaurant, the atmosphere is pleasant, with a healthy menu and drinks selection but the food lacks that fresh Thai authenticity Great for an evening with a large group of friends who want to chat over drinks with tapas but I would avoid if you are a real Thai foodie, this place just wont cut it for you. less

The menu is quite extensive and you truly feel you get an authentic taste and provides great choice for everyone. Food is served on copper plates and dishes which adds to the authenticity and what sound like simple dishes are packed with flavour. If you are in Bath, then add Yak Yeti Yak to the list of places to visit. less

CartersCake   -   A charming canal side bistro indeed, whisked away to Parisian bliss however, i was not. This average sized establishment lives up to its average size'd ambition. The Dishes are simple and some even palatable. I opted for the Risotto Vert which was passable, and my dining mate opted for the Linguine with seafood, a choice he immediately regretted when the defective waitress decided he needed the finger bowl deposited in his lap. The Risotto had a creamy, salty balance which played with the tenderness of the asparagus and the Linguine was cooked al dente with perfectly steamed muscles and a slight playful hint of garlic. Defunct service, and mediocre food. A damp lap and damp meal. If you feel the need to keep your trousers dry and your evening alive, go elsewhere. less
