My wife and I came here to dine for our Anniversary. We made a 6:00 reservation. We came 15 mins early to have a cocktail at the bar. But as soon as we walked through the door, the Host greeted us very friendly and offered to get us in early. We decided to go to the bar and just have one or two cocktails. The Host told us to just let him know when we were ready to sit down. It was very packed in the dining room, but i guess that means its good. The Bartender was very very kind. We finally decided to sit down. When the waitress came to our table, it was like there was no one else in the dining room. She went over the specials very clearly and she wasn't afraid to laugh. She made us feel very comfortable. she did have a couple of jokes. We decided on the hurricane platter. Very Very good. There was so much there to eat and it came with wine. We will definitly be coming back. Kudos to Hillside Fish House. You made our Anniversary something to remember. less

I have eaten breakfast and Friday fish fry here. Food is always great, staff is friendly, sometimes the service can be slow.

We did have to wait awhile for our table due to how packed the restaurant was. But we were guided to the bar and the bartender that night was friendly and incredibly knowledgable. One of the best places for Old Fashioneds I have ever been. When we did get seated the waitress was incredibly friendly and made you feel like she was there only for you. The food came out and the Pan Fried Walleye was amazing!! But what suprised me and my wife more was how impressive the steak was. A New York strip done so perfectly a picture could be take of it. Again best place in the area less

The chef is from Jamaica, specializing in jerked chicken, which they grill outside in the summertime on the weekends. My favorite entrees is the Steam Red Snapper, which is served with a spicy mix of vegetables and jalapenos. My husband's favorite is the Swamp Burger, and according to his Eastern European tastebuds, is "atomic"! The fries are fresh cut - and in my opinion, are the only fries worth the calories other than the state fair fries. The atmosophere is very relaxed and you will always find an interesting mix of people - boaters, bikers, campers, and locals. Summer is the best time to dine here, al fresco, along the banks of the Mississippi. They often have bands on the weekends, typically reggae or parrot head type music. less

Edwardo's is has the best pizza I've ever had. I went out of my way to stop in La Crosse just for the pizza! And I live near Chicago.

When it is a hot summer day and you want to go get a hamburger that is made with fresh local beef instead of frozen crap like so many other places do. Prices are noraml for this kind of fresh not frozen food and the french fries are made fresh every morning by the owner and they are awesome. One of our favorite things to do in the summer on the weekends. less
