Local Water Shortage Accredited to Steakhouse: Film at 11
A while back, my family and I visited a local Outback Steakhouse. I believe it was one of our first times in Outback. We all ordered normal appetizer/entree meals, in addition to some drinks (cola, etc). One peculiar thing was that when ONE of us asked for more water, the server brought the ENTIRE TABLE more water (there were four of us total). Another issue was that the server did not bother to take away any of the empty glasses.
This action continued at least one to two more times, when finally, in the middle of dinner, when the server brought us yet another round of H2O, my dad spoke up: "Um, thank you, but I think we're fine with water now."
If my memory serves me correctly, at this point in the story, there were now at least 10 (empty/half empty) glasses of water on our table. It was both annoying and highly amusing to see our table at that moment, buried underneath a forest of glasses!
I share this story because of the humor I still find in it, but also as a wake-up call to any servers out there who feel the need to keep delivering drinks and not clearing away the old ones!
